On this week’s Solari Report, I will be speaking with Dr. Katherine Albrecht, one of the foremost privacy experts in America and founder of CASPIAN (Consumers Against Supermarket Privacy Invasion and Numbering), a national consumer organization created in 1999 to educate consumer-citizens about shopper surveillance.
I first saw Katherine in Aaron Russo’s From Freedom to Fascism. I will never forget my excitement at seeing someone this capable, intelligent and fearless take on large corporations and government’s use of RFID chips, clearly explaining the invasive and disturbing applications.
Katherine has her own radio show, is a popular speaker and is the author of numerous books and videos. I just finished Spychips: How Major Corporations and Government Plan to Track Your Every Purchase and Watch Your Every Move, co-authored with Liz McIntrye. I can not recommend it and Katherine’s work highly enough. Katherine’s ability to help us understand the practical implications is invaluable.
Among other questions, I will be asking Katherine about the recent health care legislation, including efforts to digitize and centralize medical data and the National Medical Device Registry. We will also be talking about what simple, practical steps you can take to keep invasive technology out of your home and life and support organized efforts to protect us and our communities from it.
