“Welcome to the eerily dystopian world of neurotech where the line between breakthrough and breakdown feels razor thin.”
~ Quote from Cognitive Liberty
The Solari Report has addressed the topics of neuromanipulation and neuroweaponry in a variety of interviews and print materials, including, most recently, in David A. Hughes’ interview and report on Omniwar, in the 2024 and 2025 Omniwar Symposiums, in Catherine’s June 17 interview on the high-tech battle for the brain with Joshua Stylman, and in Catherine’s running checklist of steps taken to implement the digital control grid.
If you are looking for a companion video that in 90 minutes pulls together many of the strands addressed at greater length in these materials, you may want to watch the new documentary, Cognitive Liberty: Neuroweapons and the Fight for Brain Privacy, produced in the UK by Dominic Halpin, founder of technology, information, and media company TechNative.
The film features interviews with experts critical of a rising “technopolitical oligarchy,” who are raising concerns that the public will be reduced “to nodes in a technofascist smart grid.” While neurotech’s boosters describe it as “the next frontier in innovation,” with the aptly named market research firm Mordor Intelligence predicting a $32 billion industry by 2030, these critics warn that neurotechnology threatens to invade and commodify our “last refuge of privacy”—our thoughts, including both the way we think and what we think about. They also question what happens when:
To make the threat more apparent, the film also includes footage from alarmed whistleblowers as well as creepy neuroweaponry enthusiasts whose names are probably familiar to many Solari subscribers. Among others, these include Google’s Ray Kurzweil, soothing the public with promises that blood-cell-sized nanobots will “keep us healthy from inside”; Yuval Noah Harari, who thrills at the notion of humans as “hackable animals”; Founders Space CEO Steve Hoffman, who waxes eloquent about technology to read people’s dreams; Obama and his DARPA-led Brain Initiative; and James Giordano (described as a leading successor to historical figures like Jose Delgado and Allan Frey), who proudly touts a neuroweaponry toolkit—including inhaled, injected, or ingested nanoengineered materials—with the potential to intentionally modify not just thoughts and feelings but actions.
While discussing implants and wearables (the latter take on added context when considering RFK Jr.’s declared vision that every American will wear one), the film shows that neither is needed—highly sophisticated pulsed microwave technologies make it possible to read and write to brains purely by manipulating energy.
Although the neurowarfare technologies addressed in Cognitive Liberty may make viewers squirm in discomfort, the film does an excellent job of showing that we need to face the threat: “This is a ‘now’ problem, and it’s about to explode.”
