The IRS has added twenty more questions to their FAQs in connection with the FBAR filings, including instructions for taxpayers who only recently learned of the FBAR filing obligation and guidance on delinquent information returns. (Click here for Journal of Accountancy description)

Note: The FBAR filing requirement is not new in 2008, although it is the subject of greater focus by the IRS. For the necessity of filing forms with respect to years prior to 2008, consult your tax advisor.
