The National Security State & the Clash of Civilizations

“…This three volume series is the nearest thing to an official history of the UFO phenomenon that we are ever likely to see. While this second volume is an authoritative account, this is no dry history - in this gripping account, Dolan captures the cases, the controversies and the characters, giving us the definitive position on one of the last great mysteries of our time.”

- Nick Pope, UK Ministry of Defense, 1985-2006

Whenever I describe the extent of the corruption in the financial system, the same questions always follow. Who is really in control? Why are they behaving this way? Cui Bono? Who benefits?

One of the challenges in providing answers has been the absence of access to the information that we need. There are more unanswered questions than facts. Many of those unanswered questions revolve around the black budget and the private corporate power structure that it has created. If Richard Dolan is right, the UFO phenomenon is at the core of the creation of the National Security State and the Tapeworm Economy.

Over the years, I have read scores of books on the UFO phenomenon. However, it was not until reading Richard Dolan’s latest book, UFOs & the National Security State: The Cover Up Exposed, 1973-1991, that I found a book that both describes the UFO phenomenon in a comprehensive and professional way and documents the profound impact that managing this phenomenon in extreme secrecy has had on our society. This includes the creation of a consortium of military, intelligence and private interests that have formed a “break-away civilization” that continues to prosper and grow, in part because of the advanced technologies that have resulted from decades of black funded research projects.

This book is on my list of the “Top Twenty Books for the 21st Century.”

Richard will be joining me on the Solari Report this week to talk about the clash of three civilizations - human civilization, the black budget “break away civilization,” and the civilization or civilizations represented by some of the UFOs. Our goal will be to go to the heart of what is happening economically and politically and what it means to how we manage our time and assets and contribute to a enlightened transformation of our own civilization.

Here is our outline:

1. Introduction

2. The Real Clash of Civilizations

3. History of the UFO Phenomenon

4. Theories & Unanswered Questions

5. History of the Black Budget

6. The Real Cause of Our Tapeworm & Economic Crisis

7. Popular Opinion

8. What’s Next?

I will cover Money & Markets and questions in Ask Catherine, so make sure to post any questions you have for both me and Richard. The role of the black budget is so important in what is happening financially today and what may happen over the next few years, that we will go an extra fifteen minutes.

For our Let’s Go the Movies segment, I encourage you to watch this Project Camelot video of Richard presenting an overview of the material in his book last September, after the book was published.

The Art of War

This Thursday, I will be speaking with Dr. Victor H. Mair, Professor of Chinese Language and Literature at the University of Pennsylvania about his marvelous translation of the classic military treatise, The Art of War: Sun Zi’s Military Methods.

One of the questions of greatest interest to our subscribers is “What are the best books to help me understand and navigate in the 21st century?” The Art of War is one of them. It’s opening lines read:

“Warfare is a great affair of state.

The field of life and death.

The way of preservation and extinction.

It can not be left unexamined.”

The Art of War is an ancient Chinese text, written by a collection of authors during a period known as the late Warring States (475-221 BC). It was translated into French in the 18th century and into English in the 19th century. Its importance in the teaching of military strategy in the West was established after America’s defeat in Vietnam and reflects the growing importance of China in global geopolitics and the competition for natural resources.

Today, The Art of War is recommended reading throughout the US. military and intelligence community. Reflecting the integration of military and intelligence warfare with economic competition for natural resources and markets, the text is increasingly also recommended in business, law and other professions.

As Professor Mair writes, “The Sun Zi advocates adherence to the Way (Tao/Dao) as the chief criterion for victory in battle. But what exactly is the Way as applied to warfare?” Dr. Mair is uniquely qualified to address this question. His knowledge of Taoism is extensive, having translated Lao Tzu’s Tao Te Ching as well as parables and tales of Chuang Tzu.

We are all navigating what I call “the central banking-warfare model.” As warfare grows both more pervasive and intimate in our economy and culture, we are each called to understand it, practice it, or live with those who do. As change accelerates, we revisit the nature of power and conflict and ponder how to manage it with the least loss of life and resources. Indeed, for understanding how to avoid war, there is no better place to start than with Sun Zi.

This will be a fascinating conversation with a gifted scholar. I hope you will join us.

Precious Metals Market Report

By Catherine Austin Fitts

This Thursday, I am headed over to Top of the World Farm to join Franklin Sanders of The Moneychanger for the Precious Metals Market Report.

After my review of Money & Markets, we will review recent developments in the silver and gold markets. Franklin has just published a fascinating analysis on the price highs and lows in the silver and gold markets over the last ten years in the July edition of The Moneychanger. A copy will be posted at the subscriber control panel this week.

Then we will turn to a topic very much on our minds - the role of precious metals in developing local economies. As background, you will enjoy Franklin’s recent talk about revitalizing local economies. As fiat currencies grow more unstable, adopting currencies that we can trust is critical to creating income, reducing expenses and building and preserving equity for ourselves and our families.

The more of us who start transacting with precious metals, the more possibilities for all of us. That is why we launched the Silver & Gold Payment Calculator - to make it easier for local merchants and customers alike to transact using silver and gold.

As our video this week, you don’t want to miss this short news report posted here last week on the use of silver and gold currency to build local economies in Indonesia.

Finally, we will discuss Franklin’s #4 pick in the top 10 dates in the history of silver and gold.

Solari Report - Options For Storing Precious Metals

Excerpts fromOptions For Storing Precious Metals
By Catherine Austin Fitts and Carolyn Betts

In this article, we summarize some of the better-known custodial, vaulting, and digital gold arrangements available to individual investors in precious metals and provide a list of considerations for those interested in exploring these and other alternatives available to them…

We provide some key definitions:

  • Allocated Account (versus Unallocated Account)
  • Bailee
  • Chain of Integrity
  • Custodian
  • Depository
  • LBMA
  • LBMA Good Delivery Status
  • Safe Deposit Box
  • Trustee
  • Vault

And some key questions to ask, e.g.:

  • Are your precious metals held in allocated or unallocated, segregated or unsegregated, form? If both options are available, what are the price differentials for individual metals?
  • What relationship does the storage facility have to the investor, i.e., is it a bailee/custodian, agent or trustee or does it provide limited services at the investor’s risk?
  • Is there insurance against theft? Fraud? Does the insurance run to the investor individually, or to the storage facility or to some other intermediary?
  • What auditing arrangements are provided?
  • If an online purchase or liquidation facility is involved, what security measures prevent identity theft? Who is responsible for breaches of the system? What is the credit of any responsible party?
  • If the precious metals are purchased and/or held in a foreign country or state, what tax, customs, privacy and other laws apply?
  • If the storage facility or an affiliate also operates investment funds, how does that relationship affect holdings of precious metals by individual investors?

We describe a few different types of storage options:

  • GoldMoney
  • VIA MAT International
  • Bullion Management Group
  • Perth Mint
  • Delaware Depository Service Company
  • GoldSilverVault.com
  • Security Center
  • The Swiss Option

This complete report was available to Solari Report Subscribers for our July 8, 2010  precious metals report. It is now available on an open basis as of August 11, 2010.
