  1. Hi Catherine,

I feel naive asking this but you mentioned look into ‘what they did to Tiger Woods’ — do you have a good reference I could read/research to learn more? It was a while ago and I haven’t thought of it from another perspective other that what was reported at the time…

    Thank you,

    Jennifer

    1. The media loves to build you up and then tear you down.

People magazine had once a year “the sexiest men” on the face of the magazine. After the magazine would heap all kinds of free advertisement for their career behind the scenes the magazine would put pressure on doing things they wanted “the sexiest man” to do. This happen to Mark Harmon as he told them not interested, so for a couple of years they trashed him & his wife.

Then you have celebrities that play it safe and they give the different magazines stories & pictures to print in exchange not to be focused on their personal lives. Usually it is 5 stories a year. That is the way it was done 20 years & more ago.

The good news about Tiger is he is back playing competitive golf once again.

      1. I don’t that was it. I think a public hanging of Tiger was part of the management of the anger of Obama giving $24 trillion to the banks.

        1. I can’t say enough about Wayne Jett’s reconstruction of The Rape of America during late Bush 43 and Obama Administrations. The complexity of the mechanisms is explained in plain English. For those who need a more elementary primer, see Sopranos S2 E10 “Bust Out,” where a civilian who owns a Sporting Goods store finds himself in a gambling debt (Tony, “He’s a degenerate gambler!”) to the family, which then proceeds to bankrupt the business by buying loads of things, for example airline tickets, on the previously good credit of the enterprise, causing it and the owner to default. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bust_Out It’s more complicated in the Wall Street Way, but the dollars are much bigger and the need for SEC cover is a factor (The SEC did nothing to prevent the debacle, indeed probably aided it), but it’s essentially the same for any targeted enterprise.

I simply watched the media onslaught article by article in the print – both news and magazines – I believe it started in 2008. If you look at his wikipedia entry you can track the deterioration in his health and performance ever since. It was one of the worst public media executions I have ever seen.
