and the Swiss pushing back:

Yeah Swiss! The system works.
I have however noted over the last year many shops (incl Decathlon and big supermarkets like Migros) installing new self-checkouts where the machine takes ONLY card payments. Or the cash&coin is sellotaped closed.
Will not work if the customers push back.
It’s official: Satan worship at the Grammys “brought to you by Pfizer”.
Sadly, Satan didn’t have as nearly as good a costume as Miss America.
Lol. My first thought was “Bizarro world” as Catherine calls these things. So fitting!
FYI. JON RAPPOPORT IS ON FREAKING FIRE ON SUBSTACK!
Catherine dear , how do you keep your constant state of amusement with online and what I would call asymmetric warfare tactics not to mention the more severe stuff that you know ….leaves marks and stuff? Asking for a friend . LOL. GOD BLESS EVERYONE HERE AT SOLARI…. OH, My friend brings up a large amount of cameras added to his town and people are not happy about it . Paducah ky. Police appear to be in n it but it’s just the smart grid growing … the good news is, he told me….people are Pi$$ed! And he is not like us . And said people he never thought would say a word…..ARE PUSH BACK 2023✌?
Not sure if it’s realistic…but I’ve had a non-violent resistance “push back” daydream about that sort of thing…I’ve always wondered if masked teenagers with paintball guns might be able to thwart that kind of surveillance. It would take a fair amount of time and work to clean the cameras off; and the teenagers could black them out again immediately.
Perhaps an interesting find ? Articles 106 and 107 of the UN Charter give Russia, as the legal successor to the victor of World War II, the right to take any action, including military ones, against Germany, Hungary, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Finland, Croatia, Slovenia. , Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Ukraine for attempts to revive Nazism.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres was surprised to learn from Putin that there is an article in the UN charter that allows a Russian special operation to be carried out in Ukraine.
RUSSIA HAS THE RIGHT TO PUNISH NAZIS ANYWHERE (according to UN Charter)
The Nuremberg Tribunal sentenced to criminal liability all those who fought against the United Nations and committed genocide. The greatest genocide was committed against the Soviet people. UN Charter, Articles 106 and 107, gives the victors of World War II – the USSR, USA, Great Britain and China – the right to take action against the countries that fought against them to prevent actions that aim to revise the results of the Second World War. .
In particular, the use of military force against these countries is permitted. To do this, you only need to NOTIFY the other three winning countries, but not get their consent. Russia, as the LEGAL successor to the USSR, can also use force against states that want to overhaul the Yalta-Potsdam system in Europe. Russia can stop attempts to revive Nazism in Germany, Hungary, Romania, Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, Croatia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic, which acted as the protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia during the war.

This is what the articles 106 and 107 say – I am not able to decipher the meaning that is presented here? Article 5 of the Four Nation Declaration signed Oct 30, 1943 does not mention this explicitly either?
United Nations Charter, Chapter XVII:
Transitional Security Arrangements
Article 106
Pending the coming into force of such special agreements referred to in Article 43 as in the opinion of the Security Council enable it to begin the exercise of its responsibilities under Article 42, the parties to the Four-Nation Declaration, signed at Moscow, 30 October 1943, and France, shall, in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 5 of that Declaration, consult with one another and as occasion requires with other Members of the United Nations with a view to such joint action on behalf of the Organization as may be necessary for the purpose of maintaining international peace and security.
Article 107
Nothing in the present Charter shall invalidate or preclude action, in relation to any state which during the Second World War has been an enemy of any signatory to the present Charter, taken or authorized as a result of that war by the Governments having responsibility for such action.
Any ideas?
Catherine,
I often need to order remedies for my business from Europe. It’s now official – every pharmacy I order from now requires that, for “security reasons”, I type in a password through my cell phone to complete my purchase. I don’t own a cell phone, so I can’t complete my purchases. How long before I can’t call the companies by phone and give them my Visa number?
Insert expletives here.
In theory, “one leg out” (e.g. US customer buying from Europe) transactions are not subject to SCA, https://www.businesstravelnews.com/Global/Coping-with-Europes-SCA-Travel-Payment-Complexities
There is supposedly a provision for “whitelisting” merchants, so that the authentication is done only once. This seems to depend on the customer’s card provider/bank.
Apple Pay (e.g. from a Macbook) could handle this transparently, without a cellphone, but that requires an Apple digital identity linked to your card.
