    My dad works in a funeral home in Florida. My family were planning a trip in October 2021 to visit him and my mom but that’s when “Delta” variant was big and they told us not to visit due to “bodies piling up” at the funeral home and hospitals there. So we visited everyone but them. This is anecdotal but I’ve asked my dad: How many of those death certificates have Covid-19 as sole cause of death? His answer was: None of them.

    Takeaway: There were definitely increased volume of deaths in the Tallahassee area during Q4 2021.

  7. “There are no experts”…No truer words have ever been spoken. Thanks for the reminder John. It brought to mind a story my Aunt told me once about the another fallacy in our judicial system regarding juries…and that is the much touted advantage of being allowed to be judged by a jury of one’s peers. She was involved in appearing for jury duty and was part of the voir dire process. After it was completed and she was not selected for the jury, she headed for the restroom…after which she headed for the elevator to exit the building. Who should she run into in the elevator but the judge himself. She looked up and said, glad I’m not the person on trial. He asked her why. She said, because the last thing I would want is to be judged by a jury of my peers! To which, he responded…’me neither’!!
