  1. a couple of days ago, there was a coordinated razzia in Europe on a drug/child porn ring, with substantial FBI involvement, several countries, 800 arrests, 8 tonnes of cocaine seized. Also there, it seems like the FBI used hacking tools, maybe of their own making, which they will not disclose, prosecutors/judges in two countries (Norway and Germany) have publicly voiced concerns that under the law in those countries, the arrest orders may not be able to be upheld as the evidence is not legally valid and may not be used in court. The FBI is not disclosing its methods to the Europeans. I am not sure, but there may have been Bitcoin transactions involved here as well.

About a year ago, a friend who is a retired professional from the Medical Community and still has connections to it, informed me that the virus left Canada on a jet bound for Wuhan’s B-4 Lab. Totally agree that this is a multi national concerted effort to control the events, fall out, & narrative while the “opportunists” are working in overdrive to capitalize on this situation using scientific technologies now available to advance their long standing agenda “21”. I wonder if Dubba Yah got vaccinated? Hoping it might have a miracle affect on him, spare him from the “magic” virus and increase his IQ. Keep the faith…

If CBDCs arrive with real-time payment transparency of the public economy, across multiple technology partners and public stakeholders, would the resulting deluge of data create new transparency and reconciliation requirements for non-public economies? From three months of float and human+computer accounting time to three AI-powered seconds?

    2. Great point on Bitcoin made by Catherine in this weeks report. With the extreme volatility in the crypto market and the significant recent correction in the price of cryptocurrencies. Why would El Salvador now begin to accept BTC as legal tender. I would love to hear other subscribers thoughts.

      1. Maybe to market itself internationally as being “the first” and attracting monetary policy refugees and opportunists? And its actually a non-inflating instrument and the demand is there with the public. Even the dollar is worth nothing, so all those small country currencies that are somehow related to the dollar are also looking for alternatives. And ofcourse a few days later they can expect a visit from the friend of the IMF lol.

One scenario: preparation for a billion people in “Americas Common Market” merger of North & South America, with Miami as digital currency gateway to Latin America, staffed by migration of CA tech talent and NY finance talent to FL. Designate a scary/weak nation-state for initial pilot, to discourage migration of non-insiders and prepare for a future federation of failed states.

      3. I have not researched the geothermal electricity generation, but it is possible that there are sufficient resources there that geothermal can make a significant contribution to meeting El Salvador’s energy demands.
        Once in place, there may be times when excess capacity is available, but because there are few local loads that can use it, bitcoin mining becomes the highest bidder.
        After that, making bitcoin legal tender becomes a political decision. Foreign currency exchange will be a major factor in the decision.

  6. Any chance you could give your thoughts in interest rates in the upcoming call? The current consensus is that the FED will either taper their assets purchases or raise interest rates. They keep getting stung as more and more data shows that the country is not ready for that (10yrs now hit below 1.5%). We on this forum know that the Going Direct no longer puts much emphasis on monetary policy through the controlling g of interest rates and that a debt driven economy will find is very hard in normalising interest rates. How can one convince an investor going “short” interest rates that this isn’t a good idea?
