  1. Dear Catherine,
    Your “quantum” comments really made me smile. I finally got to see two real “quantum computing devices” the other week, having befriended a guy who has the unenviable job of bringing one of these devices to life. Maybe the math is enticing, but at the end of the day there has to be useful hardware. The machines I saw weren’t working, even after several years of effort, and even if they do ever work, they would only contain a maximum of maybe 20 Qbits. Moreover, I can’t imagine the magneto-optical trap technology being scalable to any significant extent, or fast. Even my friend said that these machines weren’t ever going to be very useful. He also said that there’s a dearth of people willing to work on the hardware because progress is always measured in years and it’s difficult to build a research career on only a couple of journal publications. Thus, most work is just simulations. i.e. a normal computer pretending to be a quantum computer. My conclusion was that these things are just interesting and very expensive research experiments, propped up by large amounts of marketing hype. Of course, I’d be more than happy to revise my opinion if someone could demonstrate a working machine, but I’m not holding my breath.

Dear Catherine, regarding your questions on why they emphasized that Powell died from COVID while doubly vaccinated and why Harvard just published a study which purportedly shows that vaccinated people carry the same or more viral load than the unvaccinated, I think the reason is to prepare the ground to revoke the “freedoms” and the status of vaccinated people unless they do the third dose.

    The Harvard paper, whose data are laughable, states that the higher viral load in vaccinated people is due to the Delta variant escaping antibody protection. At the same time, the old media is now saying that the booster shots can protect against Delta. Therefore, they are creating a new narrative where the vaccines are no longer effective against the mutation -look! even Collin Powell didn’t escape- therefore a booster shot is needed if you want to be protected and keep your status as vaccinated.

        I was getting suspicious when Drosten here in Germany started talking about “catching SARS on purpose after the vaccinations because that would give the best protection”
