When the on-board flight instructor collapses, a clear-minded and competent (anonymous) air traffic controller at Perth’s Jandakot Airport guides student pilot Max Sylvester—during his very first flight lesson—in landing a two-seater Cessna. Mr. Sylvester says that studying the textbook lessons helped him through. The air traffic controller’s confident and upbeat voice is the guiding force during these extraordinary moments.

Mr. Sylvester has no intention of paying for this lesson.
