This is ONE of the things that we can learn from dogs.
Stop thinking so much about ourselves..
Yes, it’s a wonderful story, but I can’t help but wonder about the human being(s) who stood there and filmed the whole thing, but did nothing.
touche, catherine. i really meat to suggest, wouldn’t it be amazing if the masses of people displayed that courage on a regular basis? and there are no doubt some people out there who have some amazing courage and do show that. 🙂
Assuming the second dog did not know the first, this is an example to society: Are we, as individuals, willing to risk great personal harm to help those who are suffering? Is the notion of human community dead? Sure, many will assist those with whom we have some connection (relatives, friends, geographic neighbors, religious affiliations, socio-economic similarities, nationality), but are we willing to embrace others simply because they are also people, despite other differences? I hope so.
And I (we) thank you for the opportunity to be of service!
Thanks for the great video. I think we’re all a little shell-shocked with all that has gone on that it’s hard to verbalize our positive feelings about this. One of my greatest joys is my 13 year-old border collie that has brought so much joy to my wife and I. Everyday when I walk her I have the chance to listen to another group of songs, or a Solari report that I’m listening to for a second or third time, as well as enjoy her companionship. And despite my little Minni’s (her name) terrible arthritis, she’s still always ready to go for a walk. Like she’s still a puppy. Always amazing.
Thanks for always keeping an eye out for upbeat stories, and providing such a beacon in these times. Our collective thoughts and prayers to you, your support staff, and the whole Solari family.
We do.
🙂
i can’t believe no one has commented on this yet. this is beautiful, amazing, albeit sad. wouldn’t it be amazing if people had such courage 🙂
