Yes! Excellent point. I had not thought about that.

Hi Catherine,
I offer the following program on Alex Carey’s book after reading the warning/quote by Milan Kundera (“The first step in liquidating a people is to erase its memory.”)
I listened to this, part 2, today. I knew about the business roundtable and Powell, but this goes into detail that includes programs in the 1940s to combat unions and the democratic party. I’m kinda in shell shock. Have not heard part 1 yet.Wall Street has spent $Billions to change public opinion and congress cited here – since the 1920s. They used editorials, cartoons, ads, fake polls, none identified by source. They succeeded in changing public opinion against unions, against social programs. They changed laws, including consumer protection and those that favored unions. Undermining democracy was another intent of big business/Wall Street. (Ironic that they still use the reason of “democracy” to invade other countries and install a right wing dictator.) Alex Carey was a sociology professor in Australia, published his book in 1995.
