Over the Mountain Podcast with Frank Niceley

Episode 2

June 20, 2025

β€œThe mark of a great man is one who knows when to set aside the important things in order to accomplish the vital ones.”

~ Brandon Sanderson

It is with the great sorrow that we learned yesterday that Senator Frank Niceley has passed. What a difference he has made in all our lives and for the people of Tennessee and the United States.

One of the many things we admired about Frank was his practical, forward-thinking, never-losing-hope approach to life. We were proud to sponsor his Over the Mountain podcast to share his wisdom with a wider audience.

Frank may be gone from our midst, but his intelligence and spirit have spread far and wide and will continue to live on in the many people he inspired. So, it is fitting that we now publish his secondβ€”and now lastβ€”Over the Mountain recording.

We ask for your prayers for Frank and his family. God bless you Frank. We are so very grateful for your presence in our lives.

  1. Oh, Catherine,
What a loss to his family and friends like you and to his community and the people of Tennessee and even America. What Senator Nicely achieved in helping and protecting people will be lasting at the very least in their heartsβ€”being a real gift.
We surely need more folks like Senator Nicely. And knowing his commitment to good governance, Im hoping he will be working now in spirit to bolster the good and inspire the good.
So sorry for the loss of your friend.

    1. Redoubling my efforts to live up to his example. Was a remarkable leader he was. Truly.

  2. Were you aware his daughter (44 years old) passed away in January? She had a heart attack.
Continued prayers for the whole family.

  3. So sorry to hear. As a Tennessean, I supported his last campaign and enjoyed visiting with him at the podcast kickoff event last October. He seemed very healthy for 78 and I am almost shocked by this.

    1. Small consolation, but just found out my TN State Representative is moving in next door to me. We were already friends, but maybe I can get her ear more easily now and help carry on Frank’s agenda πŸ™‚

  4. I am so sorry about this remarkable man and your great friend’s passing. Senator Frank Nicely’s life story is amazing. A true patriot and honest political leader is rare in this age of the war on everything; he was clear, stood solid and represented the very best of our US constitutional republic. Senator Frank Nicely left quite an amazing legacy and is an outstanding example for millions in a sea of crooks. Senator Nicely’s work will carry on in the age of social media and you, Catherine and the Solari team, were responsible for giving him a high profile platform and the recognition he deserved.
And so, as the wise say, Senator Frank Nicely’s loving spirit moves forward, it’s infinite, forever.
Love, sympathy and blessings to you Catherine, his family, the people of Tennessee and the country. πŸ™πŸ’›πŸ™

  5. I got to know Frank and his family from working at Three Rivers Market, where we sold products from his River Plains Farm. He also helped many businesses and individuals while working as a state senator. Frank was a very wise and kind man, and always made himself available to offer advise and help when he could. We are very fortunate to have people like Frank and Catherine to help educate us, and bring our community together, in a time of great division and tribalism. Frank will be missed, but his spirit lives on. God bless the Nicely family

  6. I loved Episode 1 and just signed in for Episode 2. I feel this loss as I was looking for many more uplifting words from Mr. Nicely. So grateful I will have these two podcasts to hold onto. Prayers for the Nicely family.

    1. Remarkable man. I will listen to these two podcasts and his other interviews more than a few times. Being and listening to Frank was so inspiring.

  7. This is deeply saddening news! Senator Nicely was not just β€œone of the good ones,” he was a great one! May God bless and keep him and his family.
