July 17, 2026
Solari’s monthly online briefings are designed to support state legislators, other elected officials, and engaged citizens who are working to preserve American freedoms.
The July briefing, “The Growing Importance of the States’ Support of Cash,” took place on Thursday, July 30. Guests Susan Luschas and Idaho Representative Heather Scott discussed why cash remains essential to financial freedom, as well as reviewing recent legislative successes and practical strategies for protecting cash through state policy.
Luschas, founder of Team Cash, shared how a grassroots movement can help strengthen public awareness and encourage the continued use of cash, discussing Team Cash’s efforts to promote the use of cash, South Dakota’s successful legislation ensuring that school sporting events accept cash, and the lessons learned from that legislative campaign. Susan also shared practical ideas for how individuals can help preserve cash in their own communities.
Rep. Scott discussed the legislation she championed requiring state agencies, including state-funded universities, to accept cash. She explained how the bill came together, the challenges encountered along the way, and what other states can learn from Idaho’s success.
