This week on the Solari Report, Dr. Joseph Farrell joins me for a discussion of his new book Covert Wars and the Clash of Civilizations.

The current debate around the future of the dollar as the world’s reserve currency is intense. The US government is managing a series of political defeats – from global NSA scandals, to domestic unemployment and health care woes. And yet, the value of the US dollar has remained relatively strong.

Joseph and I pick up on our prior discussions on the the breakaway civilization (Click here for Part I and Part II), to discuss the investment, military and intelligence interests that support and depend on the dollar to remain the global reserve currency. We start with a discussion of the phenomenon and risks that the national security infrastructure has faced historically,  how that may relate to financial scandals of the last two decades and to investment in North America today as well as the growing tensions between the US and its traditional allies in the G-7.

This is a wide ranging conversation – two hours in length – that explores numerous unanswered questions at the heart of the challenges and opportunities before us.

In Money & Markets this week I will discuss the latest events in the domestic and global financial markets. In Let’s Go to the Movies, I will review the newly released Ender’s Game, based on Orson Scott Card’s award winning science fiction novel by the same name.

  1. Re: “Take Back Your Power” – an amazing new movie about smart meters

    Dear Catherine,

    I recently saw a very good movie about smart meters and wanted to make sure you had heard about it. It’s called “Take Back Your Power” and it’s a movie everyone should see. It is one of the first documentaries I’ve seen in a while about the state of the world that actually made me feel good at the end. Although the info in the movie is alarming, there is something very easy and extremely effective that we can all do to stop it – opt out and have our smart meters removed. One important note – when calling to the electric company to opt out, insist on have an analog meter (not a ‘non-transmitting’ or ‘deactivated’ digital meter) installed. When we requested an analog meter, we were initially told that they are obsolete and no longer available. Upon asking to speak with a supervisor, we learned that they are still available. From the movie, it appears that some of the ‘non-transmitting’ meters still do in fact, transmit.
