Thank you for bringing forth the bookstore owner’s letter to the ABA…when I read it in full, I was surprised to discover that the author is the owner of two familiar bookstores here in Denver, CO! I so appreciated seeing her letter as I am a 20+ year veteran bookseller, (now ‘retired’ survivor), of the Woke takedown of my beloved Tattered Cover Bookstore, a formerly world class enterprise whose founder is especially known for her intrepid defense of the First Amendment (and winning!) a landmark case some 20 years ago. As noted in Nicole Sullivan’s letter, the sudden ‘social justice demands’ by new, young staffers were unleashed mid-March 2020 with such vitriol and intransigence that I was overcome with disbelief and confusion that these ‘congenial’ co-workers turned so monstrous so quickly, as if on cue. I’m coming to believe that they were subjected to some kind of targeted entrainment/mind control/encouragement that snapped them into such aberrant behavior. It was a most surreal experience that I see as contributing to the Covid Op agenda to transfer this iconic local business into the hands of a venture capitalist group who have successfully stripped it of its open-community spirit and depth of dedicated, experienced personnel. Perhaps the purchase of the store by an ABA insider around 2015 was but a priming move to lead into the March 2020 and ensuing fiasco…?
