  1. Catherine, your advice on saving or not saving for a wedding is brilliant. It reminds me of my wedding which took place in a foreign country, in a community where everyone contributed something, chairs for the guests, a wedding cake, a deejay, live folkloric dancers, alcohol, dry ice for the alcohol and food. Now all this did cost money, but it was peanuts compared to what it would have cost here in the States.

    I must say Catherine, the financial advice you often give, outside of stock market investments is so akin to what working class people like myself do all the time. For example, you are now pushing credit unions and I was like whoa…I have been with credit unions for over 15 years! It’s nice to see that you make suggestion on things I have already been doing, its just very affirming…thank you for what you do.

      I am not giving financial advice. I am walking through options. Everyone is different – what is good for you is not good for the next guy and without the specifics on each individual it is impossible to give advice. And I am not pushing credit unions. I am pushing WELL GOVERNED AND WELL MANGED institutions. Not all credit unions are well managed. What I am pushing is personal responsibility – and trying to get you the information for you to decide for yourself.

    One correction to your video. East Palestine is in eastern Ohio northwest of Pittsburgh. So it is not that far from West Virginia .
