  1. Thurs Dec 1st, in my small town of 40,000 people … 200 people met inside a 4 car garage attached to a mansion, high up, on the side of a hill. No one was wearing a mask, almost everyone was unvaxxxed and most of the people were Christians. This group has self-organized to form several committees to cooperate during the coming chaos. The group may be in the process of becoming famous across Canada.
    Dr. Nagase was the guest speaker (he is the Alberta doctor who was fired for prescribing Ivermectin). Nagase reported the stillborn deaths (in one month) at Vancouver Women and Children’s Hospital (i.e. the maternity hospital for the Province of British Columbia), in addition to 3 stillborn deaths (in one month) at a hospital in Waterloo Ontario, and another report of 3 stillborn deaths (in one month) in London UK. He made it clear that if these events happened in “normal” times, the hospitals would be shut down until the cause of the deaths was identified and isolated. He is as shocked as anyone that the media is not covering the story.

    “SpaceX’s Starlink project aims to establish a vast network of table-sized satellites around the Earth in order to beam high-speed internet to the ground.

    “There are now more than 1,750 active Starlink satellites in orbit, though SpaceX has filed paperwork to create a 42,000-strong constellation of satellites.”

    1. Will be interesting to see what happens if they get in financial trouble – who will get control behind or in the front of the scenes.

    Excellent M&M, as always. Thanks for your and John’s continued hard work.

    Some insights on the young people in Taiwan, especially Taipei. Having lived there for 2 1/2 years from 2015 and being able to speak Mandarin well enough to function in society and socialize, there’s another side to life in Taiwan (especially Taipei) that most are unaware of, especially with the younger people there.

    Like in most East Asian countries, working at most jobs there are long and underpaid, even among skilled white-collar workers. Unpaid overtime is the norm, despite laws saying otherwise. I have primary testimony of this. De jure vs. de facto implementation.

    I also know of Taiwan university graduates who would rather work at an American-owned independent cafe in Taipei than their field of study simply because they would be paid more making and serving food and drinks at that cafe (and Taiwan has a non-tipping culture).

    Apparently, some of the most coveted jobs by graduates from the most prestigious university in the country, National Taiwan Unversity, aka 台大， is to work as a flight attendant to potentially get off the island or else find a job in China, oftentimes in Shanghai.

    From my limited experiences outside of Taipei and the experiences of locals, life outside of Taipei is siginficantly more relaxed and slower-paced, even in the larger cities of Kaohsiung and Taichung. The most ambitious Taiwanese people generally move to Taipei.

    The cost of living in Taiwan is relatively low and so are the salaries. I’ve been told that many well-educated Taiwanese young people work in China for some time and then usually, eventually, return home to Taiwan.

    Now this is not to say that these graduates would support a Chinese takeover of Taiwan whatsoever, but there are certainly complexities to the situation. Afterall, the majority of Taiwanese young people, even university graduates, just trudge on in Taiwan and “endure.” (忍）

      1. Yes, and (many?) parts of the Taiwanese media have been bought out by mainland companies in an attempt to (further) influence the culture.

        I remember that when COVID began, this mainstream TV Taiwanese program (rebroadcast on GooTube) had a segment blaming the CIA and the US for the “virus” since there was a supposed analysis on the different “strains” of the virus and only the US had all of the different strains, meaning that the origin of the virus was from the US, not China or elsewhere. (There was no mention of Wuhan Institute of Virology, UNC-CH, Ralph Baric, etc.） As a side, the name of the show can be translated as “This.. is not news.”

        Not surprisingly, it’s no longer on GooTube, but a local friend in Indonesia independently told me during the early days of COVID that that theory/propaganda was going around in Indo as well. A friend in Taiwan said it was known that that television channel had mainland propaganda.
