  1. catherine and john, can you address stagflation? it seems we are heading to high inflation + low demand + high unemployment global economy, not to mention industrial overcapacity if the G7 really does want to reshore some china industries. can’t find much on it, i think there haven’t been books published about stagflation since the 1980s.

    1. The hilarious thing is that many econonists are now putting this down to “incredible demand post lockdown as the economy recovers”!! And believe it or not many portfolio managers and bankers believe it!!!!

  2. Vladimir Putin sent shockwaves through the global community in his recent Valdai conference. One of the best new media historical reporters is Matthew Ehret and his wife Cynthia Chung of the Canadian risingtidesfoundation.net and the Canadian Patriot’s Podcast. I would like to share their recent 1 hr. podcast with Matthew explaining Putin’s “truth bombs” in a historical narrative of Russian, world history from the late 1800s to today, the Bolshevik color revolutions, WW1, WW2, Stalin, then “looting of Russia”, why all these forces that infiltrated Russia are driving the Western world today, why Putin rejects the destruction of culture, family, God. Matthew adds the historical data, context. Russia has “been there, done that” at much loss of life. Bein underfunded it’s not a slick podcast. But the content is outstanding and should be watched by anyone trying to understand how we got here. Please review. Thanks. “The Great Game with Matthew Ehret:Putin’s Valdai Truthbombs & the Bolshevik Color Revolution.”

    1. What Indont understand though is that news from inside (from both Russian and Kazakh relatives) is that they have ramped up the vaccine rhetoric again, even after Putins speech. Doesn’t make any sense, although nobody follows any of not seriously.
