  1. It’s a shame that James Norman has not updated his book. That would be so illuminating.

The Oil Card: Global Economic Warfare in the 21st Century

Challenging the conventional wisdom surrounding high oil prices, this compelling argument sheds an entirely new light on free-market industry fundamentals. By deciphering past, present, and future geopolitical events, it makes the case that oil pricing and availability have a long history of being employed as economic weapons by the United States. Despite ample world supplies and reserves, high prices are now being used to try to rein in China—a reverse of the low-price strategy used in the 1980s to deprive the Soviets of hard currency. Far from conspiracy theory, the debate notes how the U.S. has previously used the oil majors, the Saudis, and market intervention to move markets—and shows how this is happening again. This compact and unorthodox analysis will appeal to a broad audience—from energy consumers puzzled by intractably high oil prices to producers wondering how long windfall prices can defy gravity.

      1. Yes they are excellent. I love the cover of his book. If I remember correctly you or possibly someone else asked him about an updated edition and he said he was tired of the subject and it was too depressing to continue the research or something to that effect. Volume two would be a riveting story.

        1. Last time I spoke with him he was busy building a new house and enjoying a well deserved retirement.

  2. The worst thing that can happen is to have open season at gas/oil pipelines or at transoceanic cables. There is a pipeline from Norway to Poland that replaces NS. Will it survive?

  3. Just as when demonstrations were erupting all of over Germany demanding the opening of Nord Stream II and the lifting of sanctions, and just as Chancellor Scholz’s tour of the Gulf countries secured 1 (ONE) tanker with LNG from Abu Dhabi, someone sabotaged both Nord Stream pipelines.

“The destruction that occurred on the same day at once on three strings of the offshore gas pipelines of the Nord Stream system is unprecedented. It is not yet possible to estimate the timing of the restoration of the gas transmission infrastructure,” Nord Stream AG, said.

Berlin is reportedly examining two possible scenarios. In the first, Ukraine or “Ukraine-affiliated forces” could be behind the attack. The second option is that Russia did it as a “false flag,” to make Ukraine look bad and drive EU energy prices even higher.

I wonder who the “Ukraine-affiliated forces” could be…

      1. Hi Ermis,
Indeed! Is anybody, anywhere not suspicious that the USA are behind this? Seems like “they” just don’t care anymore.
        Greetings, Nick

        1. I guess they desperately needed to remove the only leverage Germany could have in a negotiation with the Americans regarding their stance against Russia.

          1. With each move, it becomes clearer to the people of Germany that their politicians are not their friends, and neither are the USA. Will German industrials be moving to a place where the energy supply is more reliable and cheaper? i.e. is this an act of economic war?

        2. It seems time to realize no politician of any nation is working for their citizenry.

If you know of one please inform me. Who is the “USA”? Surely, we the people do not benefit from any of the machinations going on.

          1. Has much changed?

            Operation Gladio

            00:19:29
Thomas Polgar : CIA Germany 1951
NATO in Western Europe in specific response to the communist takeover in Czechoslovakia in 1948 and
the Berlin blockade, directives were issued to establish Europe-wide stay-behind along the lines
which existed in the final years of World War Two in Western Europe.

Colonel Oswald Le Winter : There was an amendment to the NATO Protocol and that amendment was
absolutely necessary – you didn’t get in the door unless you signed – and what was in that amendment
was the agreement of the government not to prosecute Right-wing activists, right-wing activities,
anti-communist activists in their own countries.

Ray Cline : It’s not unlikely that some Right-wing groups were recruited, and made to be stay-behinds
because they would indeed have tipped us off if a war were going to begin. So using Right-wingers
if you use them not politically but for intelligence purposes, this is okay.

            00:25:12
Thomas Polgar : In all those countries some elements of the social democratic or socialist parties
aligned themselves with the communists into so-called national unity parties or socialist unity parties.
The presumption was that should the Soviet Army make a move toward the West they would try to
build some kind of a puppet government in the German territory which they would occupy.
The BundDeutcheUbilt was a Right-wing political organisation loosley affiliated with one of the
political parties in the State of Hessen in Germany. And it was deemed that these people have the
motivation and the willingness to serve as part of the underground should indeed the Soviet Army
overrun all or part of West Germany. Now, as part of these preparations against that day,
somebodys enthusiasm ran away with their judgement and they drew up a list of politians
including many prominent Social Democrats who they thought might be the kind of people that
the Soviet Army would look for in trying to organise a puppet government.
When the story broke there was a considerable flap and it was deemed desirable thet CIA General
Truscott should explain to the people involved what had happened. And we explained the
situation first to Senator Konrad Audenauer of Germany and then we explained it to General
Matthew Ridgeway who was then the Commander-in Chief of NATO and finally and most importantly
to Prime Minister (1950-69) George Zinn of Hesse who was himself on that list. And Truscott explained to
the Prime Minister that this was an unauthorised activity, to be sure only a paper exercise,
but of which he was unaware, and it certainly he shouldn’t be interpreted as casting aspersions
on our confidence in Prime Minister Zinn.

          2. There are none. They have their abused mind control slaves everywhere. Remember when Trump called Rubio a rent boy? Rubio/Bonacci, what’s the difference?

    1. Victoria Nuland: “If Russia invades Ukraine, one way or another, Nord Stream 2 will not move forward”

This is the same Victoria Nuland who said, “Fuck the EU”, and she sure did it to Germany.

I also read that her father was a Ukrainian physician, too. Of course, she’s impartial.

        1. How funny. Thanks for sharing.

A few weeks ago Catherine reported about a new discovery of a new gas offshore source of in Britain. I can’t recall the name of it but I haven’t heard it mentioned anywhere else. With sterling collapsing and pipelines being destroyed I should think that would be a big story right now.
Can you recall the name so I can try to follow up on it?

          1. No I don’t recall the name and I haven’t seen it anywhere else. I only remember Catherine mentioning it.

    1. Strange, the logo is no longer prominently posted at that web page–though you can see it’s filtered out into the web, like on wikipedia.

Could be a Rorschach test effect, but the screen of the video player on that previous link sure has the impression of a crown of thorns.

  4. Readers may find the article linked below of interest, in part for the attention given CAF, but also for some sharp analysis as pasted below. Some may find the Bolshevik perspective heavy going.

My question for Catherine–what has become of Chris Sanders? Sanders Research was excellent in its day; you published an article with him. It has been well over a decade since i’ve seen any signs of life from him. any news would be appreciated.

Much of the surveillance and control technology we are increasingly subjected to…is explained by a lazy, half-baked sort of analysis as the desperate search for »clicks« and »data«. If this were true, the consumer power of the population thus assumed would have to be large enough for their differential purchases to justify– to make profitable – such massive outlays of capital. Yet this is occurring as the broad masses, even in the West, see their purchasing power shrink exponentially. Again, down the rabbit hole somewhere, all this surveillance and data is »profitable« not because of a real capitalist market, but because someone (government and »private« intelligence agencies) is buying it for its utility in exerting direct control. Data is not the »new oil«: the »new oil« is the massively expanded capacity of the ruling class to exploit you by using the data, directly and indirectly, which they have accumulated about you. We, and our collective, impending enslavement is the »new oil«.

  6. Catherine,

It’s “that” time of year again – many of my subscriptions for magazines/podcasts etc are coming up for renewal. My new bar: do they offer the quality and quantity of content that Solari offers? If not, delete.
I now only support four organizations: Rocco Galati’s Constitutional Rights Centre, Vaccine Choice Canada, The Highwire, and the Solari Report.

Any chance of me no longer supporting Revenue Canada?

Thank you for setting the bar high.
