I gave up Wi-Fi in my home in June. Experimenting with a break. I’m calling it my, “Not Girl Summer”. So far, I have made new connections with neighbors, play with my puppy 50% more, am learning a Christmas Hymn in Latin which I hope to perform somewhere by Dec. and I’m landscaping my own yard instead of paying the guy $10000, which also resulted in that I quit my gym membership because I am literally, “working out-side” , and no longer need it. Eliminating the option to get lost online (even if it’s mostly “educational”), is making me seek other things to do of course. There are some things I need to do online so I go to the Library, where I also made a few new connections. There is a company coming to my area soon with hard-wired internet, and I’ll probably get it. For now, I enjoy the results. Life somehow feels more like back in childhood pre internet. Slower. More peaceful.

Just hope it’s not Xfinity / Comcast. Poor customer service. Everything is YOUR fault, until proven otherwise. Guy came to check my connection. “You’ve got a dead line.” That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you for 3 weeks. “OK. I’ll take the service call charge off your bill.” Yes, they charged me as soon as he arrived. Climbed the pole and found me and my neighbor were disconnected, probably from when another neighbor had moved out of our townhome community and they disconnected him. So let’s disconnect all 3 even though 2 are still paying. Oh, and I never got credit back for those 3 weeks. That was Sept. I dropped them that Dec. 5 years ago. I use my phone’s hotspot now or take my laptop to library to use their wi-fi. Also, Comcast owns NBC TV.

Thanks. I never heard of them. I looked at their website and see they are only in Tennessee, west of the Tennessee River. I was hoping they might be an alternative for me. But, alas, not available in North Louisiana.

Happy Fourth Jennifer. I really enjoyed the Financial Rebellion segment you spearheaded regarding the “Medical Grid”. Appreciated the good reference materials that you presented. Had many years in the insurance industry and found your reporting very interesting relative to today’s health care scene…or lack there of. Recently had to have major surgery on an outpatient basis, Survived and did not get transfused. I am still thanking God for that but made my feelings very clear on that potential necessity with the medical staff going in. It pays to let them know your sentiments and I let them have mine with a double barrel! Keep up the good work!
