As for television, I never replaced my analog television when things went digital – don’t miss it at all. There’s plenty of quality content in the new media, including Solari!

I just drove Xcountry and if the amount of fireworks building up to and on on the eve of the 4th was any indication (even in my folks mostly Dem part of Connecticut) there seems to be an inspired amount of USA pride going on. Granted, I avoided big cities, but there were so many Trump signs with flags still up along the highways and only one Biden in 3500 miles. Perhaps a decent percentage of people have learned to ignore the propaganda/entrainment coming out of their TVs, Soviet style

It seems so relevant – please let me quote: He (the king of England) has abdicated government here, by declaring us out of his protection, and waging war against us.

That is good news. I wonder how many people have learned to throw away their TVs for good.
Clearly, broadcast is dying. Lots of grumbling about COVID restrictions. Mistrust of government is widespread and the destruction of property is not going over at all. In fact, almost everyone seems armed and ready to fight it out. Giant misplay by the left.

My grandfather was one of the pioneers in the invention of television. When he retired, his employer gave him a TV receiver. He hated it. Especially the Ed Sullivan Show and Howdy Doody. He did like the baseball games and the Sherlock Holmes stories.

I had a TV in my life, but got rid of in in 1961. When I bought my house, the former owner left a console TV in it. I got help carrying it out to the street for big-junk day sometime in 1976.
