Reaching for the Scars

“Reaching for the scars” is John’s theme this week — most people reach for the stars; the powers that be are reaching for our scars and inflicting fresh ones. Catherine and John walk the week’s stories: Iran setting the pace of the war while the U.S. draws down in Iraq, Bahrain, and Kuwait; the Selective Service war-gaming a draft; the summer Arctic route opening; Capital One closing the Trump Organization’s accounts; Marco Rubio’s visa threat and his AIPAC money; Karl Denninger’s hyperscaler bankruptcy warning; what the National School Lunch Program actually serves; nurse advocates from Remnant Healthcare; and Solari’s new Programmable Money PDF.

  1. Catherine, will you be saying more about what types of black swan events you think are possible in the bond market? Thank you!

    1. I would love for you to have another conversation with Ed Dowd. I think he is expecting a recession and favoring the bond market at that time. I’d love to hear a dialogue between the two of you about the bond market. Thank you so much!

  2. Indeed why are all stops today not pulled out when conventional weoponry on the American side is logistically low, and less effective? If it turns to a scalar war, the western neocons could have the upper hand due to have handled a black butget for decades all parties eventually signed on to for the promised goodies, until infighting flaired up when it became clear it would only functions on a hierarchical structure?

And or have neocons found the mathematical code that could lead to the tablet of destinies? Is it therefore they need datacenters with lots of cpu power to get that code unraveled as fast as possible? Could that lead to a breaking apart of entropy in order to defeat death? It also would be a resolution to forever energy.

Can you imagine Nutty Yéhoo and other cuties living forever! I agree with the Duran boys that Iran like Syrian Assad choosing western alliances above that offered by Russia and China (27:37 in).
Are they being seduced by the prospect of personal eternal life and forever energy promises as if neocons would honor agreements?!

  3. Warren Buffet had a solution similar to this :
“Milei’s idea is straightforward: future Argentine governments should have their wings clipped before they are even able to take flight on another debt-financed spending spree. The mechanism is equally straightforward. Should the federal budget remain in deficit for several consecutive months, Congress would be given a deadline to restore fiscal balance. Failure to do so would automatically trigger a U.S.-style government shutdown. Non-essential government activities would be suspended automatically—without further parliamentary debate or political horse-trading. The President, Vice President, cabinet ministers, state secretaries, and every member of both houses of Congress would receive not a single peso in salary until the budget is balanced once again. Furthermore, all new spending would be frozen. No new contracts could be awarded, and no additional public employees could be hired. Even more striking, discretionary transfers from the federal government to Argentina’s provinces would also be suspended.”

I doubt this will happen, but it is good to know that it is possible.

      1. Thanks. The math behind this is given in the Levy (circa 1920) and Kalecki (late 1930s) equations for Corporate Profits. As a one line summary :
        Corporate Profits = Government losses.
Obviously, a reduction almost to the absurd of a complicated international exchange.

  4. Enjoyed Nurse Advocate – watched earlier this week. I had a run in with our local hospital with my wife, having to remove her after 14 days of them trying to kill her with drugs. The hierarchy of doctors that were very misleading to me & family. I told them if she dies she’s dying at home. She has Alzheimer’s fell our of bed cracked her pelvic & all they could do was fill her with drugs, she basically didn’t eat or drink for two weeks. Took her home & fully recovered from injury in a week. In hindsight I was lucky they let me take her home – they said not to take her home. Thank you for the nurse advocate – I will sign up too. Scott

    1. Good for you, Scott. Amazing what we can do if we have people on our side who have the expertise to help us follow our common sense.

  5. As always, an excellent presentation. The poisoning will continue as the agenda is coming from a non-human source IMHO. Can this be discussed? Additionally a discussion on AI data centers: locations are strategic and aligned with underground rail systems, other objectives? Loss of homeownership due to outrageous property insurance rates: I know of many homeowners after 40+ years of no claims where annual renewal rates have gone from $4-5k per yr to $22k+ (Marin county CA).

    1. If it is Marin, they may be anticipating more fires – or earthquakes. Given all the tech people who want to buy in, could also be a way to get people to sell.

  6. John Perkins and Tucker Carlson – Please give me facts and proof that Tucker Carlson is not the shady type of person you are negatively referring to in your character assassination of John Perkins and listeners family members you think are not worthy of being on your “team”.

The Democracy Now John Perkins interviews posted below starting in 2004 with the publication of Confessions of an Economic Hit Man will reveal truths about John not distortions. John Titus’s statement about John Perkins lacking a Jesus moment is not true. I am surprised John Titus would make this kind of statement after the exemplary research job on Washington’s first paycheck.

Listeners need tools to make up their own minds about who they want to learn from. Not be thrown into teams with a who’s who (according to who?) control grid. There are people with extraordinary experiences to learn from like on the educational John Perkins interviews below on Democracy Now.

Everyone is entitled to redemption. John is responsible for bringing the Love Summit Business Conference into fruition with a 27-year-old director of his nonprofit Dream Change at her request. She is a student of LOVE in business. How brave was he against all odds that business and politicians would pay attention, along with a sponsor Dan Weiden founder of Weiden+Kennedy a private independent advertising agency that coined the term “Just Do It for Nike. At Dan’s company headquarters the event was held with business and government leaders. Samantha is organizing for the third event in ten years. The Love Summit Business Conference is a miracle I have watched closely and participated in from the beginning. I am very grateful to John for making this possible for the many people who attended the last two conferences and are eagerly awaiting the third.

John Perkins is a good person in the same way we are all not perfect yet.

    1. My assessment of Perkins came at the time his book was published. I described it here https://library.solari.com/will-the-real-economic-hit-men-please-stand-up/

I was strong armed and threatened aggressively on multiple occasions to do interviews with Perkins – I refused to do so. One of the gold bugs threatened to throw me out of his group in a manner that seriously threatened Solari’s existing economics.

No one ever strong armed and threatened me to do an interview with Carlson.

For all I know, Perkins is a nice man, has evolved since then and done a lot of good. What I know was his first book delivered the big lie and was used to promote it. I found it deeply offensive. The kind of lies that get people bankrupted and killed. And you are exactly right, everyone is entitled to redemption. If Perkins has earned it, good for him. Since events have proven me right and his first book wrong, it would not surprise me if his thinking has evolved.

Tucker did the same when he supported the Iraq War – for which he has repeatedly and profusely expressed his regret. He has come clean on Trump and the uniparty = we will see what he does when the next Presidential election comes around. Perhaps Perkins has done the same – I just don’t know about it.
