At the grocery store the other day, the computers were down. The bill was $12.93. I gave him $15.00. He couldn’t figure out how much change to give me. I asked: Doesn’t it bother you to struggle to do basic math: His response was: No. It’s always No, no matter how many times I ask this question. I doesn’t bother them that they can’t do math or spell or cursive.
This is what bothers me more than the uneducating system. It’s that people don’t care if they can’t do math, can’t spell, can’t write, can’t read. They don’t care. Parents don’t seem to care that their children can’t do basic reading, writing, and math.
I said to this particular cashier: it might be worth researching what happened in history to people when they couldn’t read or do basic math.
Someone who can’t do basic math will ‘research’ history?
I’m afraid they need spoon fed.
They don’t want that most times, though, and will respond accordingly.

Catherine, what is the chance that the bond mkt does what it did in 1929? Less than 1 percent to over 4 percent in one yr that was the 10 yr? Have a friend in his 70s with most of his money sitting in Southern Company, he things when things tank as they have in the past SO will be just fine. I have tried to educate him that Utilities are interest rate sensitive.
I still have not finished But the whole Fair-Use idea and then destroy original sounds illegal to me. I just looked into what fair use means and to me it sounds like the ability to use small portions of a book’s info to make a point, pass on information etc. but not to totally capture all it’s pages and put in one’s library as a digital or book copied totally. Seems there is a possibility to sue on grounds of Fair Use being abused. There is also the possibility that would insist a group/ guardian of books (for example) to oversee these scanned books into ai and then required to guard the originals. To scan a whole book into One’s archive(ai dungeon) would not be Fair (as in fair use) to then be put online for sale/or even free through an ai company, search engine that then intern charges for internet service fee whether Wi-Fi or cell phone charges is indeed requiring pay to read a book. There is a there there with this one and John being a lawyer could probably dig in and find it. Thank you and the book thing makes does make me very upset
Riots don’t start 2 or 3 weeks after people run out of food. They begin 3 days after people stop being able to find food.

I understand that the upcoming episode 3 will include more information about how the US government has been operating under an extended National Emergency since 1933, and all that this implies – which is a very interesting conversation and exploration. Gives one hope that perhaps we can peacefully come back to the Constitutional Republic that our federal and state constitutions guarantee.
