  1. Catherine and John,

Many thanks for another excellent M&M.

Pertaining to the search for our local farmer, one resource we’ve found that bypasses the grocery store distribution system and focuses on the small, organic businesses and farmers is Azure Standard.

    https://www.azurestandard.com

We’ve used it for 5 consecutive months and are very pleased with the products and service. They are nation-wide.

Additionally, I emailed the founder re: the possibility of use of the new mRNA vaccines in livestock. He got right back to me and they are very aware of the situation and are on top of the current issues we all face with our food sources.

  2. Lol …. I’m waiting for the day when John no longer says “I can’t believe they would do that”.

Catherine is correct. There are no limits.

  3. Once again, I’m taking the unpopular position with regard to these “farmer” protests.
I must ask, how will this change anything?
From where I stand, this is just another dog whistling psy op designed to play on rising anger, and the goal is to get folks in the streets, protesting, rather then spending time and energy creating alternative systems and solutions.
This kind of protest is the very easiest to infiltrate and corrupt.
Indeed, what better way to turn farmers into terrorists. No need to mandate or legislate.

  4. From son in Kiev. Tax on groceries is now 20%. The government has said they can take people’s private automobiles for use in the war but they’ll return what’s left. Seventeen people in Ukraine’s Parliament are considering resigning which could put Zelensky out. Legally, Ukraine is not in a state of war – they don’t want to upgrade to war because they’d have to close their borders to everyone and would have to declare war on Russia which they don’t want to do.

The government can conscript but can’t make them fight. Officers aren’t on the line, it’s mostly sergeants. When the order to fight is given it’s “not received.” Army rations have always been bad, primarily buckwheat mush. Ukranian citizens were sending their soldiers food from home but that has stopped. He doesn’t see any foreign aid for food. He’s not seeing shortages just the high price.

The government now claims certain “essential workers” are needed in the military and proposes fining employers 20,000 grivna($520)/worker/month who have these essential workers. It’s unclear to me if they want these workers in the army or if it’s an excuse to impose a tax. People are tired of the war. The wealthy are unfazed by it.

A Ukranian working in Poland said someone in US military told her employer to expect conscription in Poland. The company is considering relocating to the US. I don’t have information about the company.

There was one interesting observation. Dniepro is known as the mafia city in Ukraine, more so than Kiev. He thinks the police presence and cameras in Kiev are the reason although there is plenty of corruption with the police. Surprising to me, the cities are safe from violent crime. The type of crime they have is more on the order of tricking one out of their money (especially foreigners). The mafia also tends to take care of their cities. At the beginning of the war, the mayor of Dniepro made an effort to equip and provision their soldiers.

    1. Thank you. Things you will never hear from Lester Holt et al.
Noteworthy: ” People are tired of the war. The wealthy are unfazed by it.”

        1. The ones who are apoplectic about continuing the grift would know. Schumer comes to mind.

  5. I am hearing a certain amount of panic between you and John this week. We all know that The Operation means to spread panic by means of making everything confusing. You say that “we have reached the point where we absolutely cannot trust anything in the media.” We reached that point several years ago during the COVID operation.

You just have to take a step back again and realize that you’re only getting a part of the story, and it looks very bad, all four horses of the Apocalypse galloping in at once, including that “none” of “the candidates” are on the right side of what appears to be a genocide. The fact is that time continues unabated, and the election comes. We do our best to select the best among the choices.

The truth is, The Operation only has so many tools, and spreading fear is one of them. That’s always going to be the case. Nobody knows everything and, like WWE, which is hideously in the news this week, the script changes in response to the reaction.

Remember The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy admonition: DON’T PANIC! In that context, what Douglas Adams’ characters were advised is that the ride goes on and the result is inevitable, but not necessarily detrimental in the final analysis. And in a more serious and lyrical fashion, Goethe’s Dr. Faustus finds out that both sides ultimately resolve to the same fate. This is also brought out by Tom Robbins in Jitterbug Perfume, that the ship taking you away from this life is marked “Heaven” on one side and, as it turns to the sea, the other side is marked “Hell.” It’s not ours really to choose. We have played our roles to the best of our ability.

At last, it is not ours to save the world, that would be heresy, but ours to be part of it in the roles we are capable to. As a group, then, the aggregation of our good intentions advances mankind, and our failings retard such progress.

    1. Things do look troublesome. I will intend to not panic, and not be fearful, and continue to do the best I can.

    2. Disagree. We do get to choose. God almighty will decide where each and every one of us ends up. So, each individual needs to get him or herself right with God in the here and now. Free will.
