Too big to fail = too big to bail
Some interesting thoughts from this gentleman about President Biden’s ready reserve orders for Operation Atlantic Resolve.
He mentions pilots several times, both Air Force pilots and Army Helicopter pilots as examples. Makes me think about the importance of air defense for ground forces and logistical support for the promised F-16s, or F-35s.

Rex Sinquefield came up with the idea for index funds and is deep into Missouri politics. Patrick Ishmael an attorney with Rex’s non lobbying, nonprofit, Show Me Institute, spoke briefly at a small gathering of doctors about how and why to file Sunshine requests with local government entities. After the meeting I tried to engage him in a conversation about how to put the federal government back in it’s proper place, did he back a state bullion bank, or a state bank. He stuttered around quite a bit and made a few odd comments about gold and silver not being good currency. For example, if gold isn’t taxed neither should aluminum be taxed as it could be used in coins. What?!
Most interesting, however, was his statement that crypto is the “safest currency.” He said it doesn’t matter that it’s electronic because an identifying number can be attached to it, therefore it can’t disappear. He doesn’t back CBDC because of surveillance concerns but crypto is the best. I’m not in healthcare and he wasn’t expecting the question so he slid around. That’s all I could get from him.
Interesting that Carolyn says “the boot came down in 1994-96”. I look at 1995 as when the Digital Age really took off. That’s when DVDs really started replacing VHS analog tapes for movies to own at home, although it took 10 years to complete the transition. That’s when CDs really took off replacing vinyl record albums for music. And that’s when the Internet really took off, when cable TV companies and some landline phone companies started offering Internet service to homes. That’s when mobile phones switched from the analog bag phones to the digital cell phones that did not require the cumbersome bags for power and transmitting. Yes, there was some digital services prior to that in movies, music, home internet, and cell phones, but I look at 1995 as the demarcation line when things really took off digitally. That’s also when Microsoft went from Windows 4.0 operating system to Windows 95.
Ted, I agree. I was an undergrad in college from 93-96, Everyone in my dorm used word processor type writers, A-drives, floppy disks and VHS tapes. In college we were all so broke we couldn’t afford the CD’s,we still made mixed tapes with cassettes and the radio. There was a computer lab that held 25 seats and we all had to take MS-DOS. Then we were all forced to “upgrade” to Win95. Our DOS now Windows teacher said, “This might be the end of the world, OR we will be just fine because the people in charge with the money that run the world have GOOD intentions” (as he rolled his eyes). I remembered that comment because it sent a chill up my spine. I had no idea what he was talking about, but it sounded creepy.
I went home and told my Dad about it and he said, he thinks the rich guys don’t give a darn about Joe Public and if we are not careful they will have us all on IBM ledgers working for money that can only be spent at “The Company Store” like his family used in the early 1900’s”. Non-transferable credit vouchers causing debt-bondage…hmmm sounds familiar. My Dad passed in 2015, he tried to teach us to be as resourceful as possible, not to rely on the State for anything. No wonder they want to kill the elders first, they know what is going on for sure!
Your dear Dad sounds wonderful, Jennifer.
