Money & Markets
Analog Power Shorts the Digital Control Grid
In this episode of Money & Markets, Catherine and John discuss how recent conflicts, particularly between Israel and Iran, as well as ongoing tensions in Ukraine, are reshaping the geopolitical landscape. They also examine the impact of these events on the global financial system, including the performance of stocks, gold, and small caps, and the implications for the US dollar and broader economic stability.
In addition to military and financial discussions, Catherine and John turn their attention to pressing domestic issues, such as the controversial use of chat GPT and AI technologies, the rollback of harmful legislation concerning public lands, and the ongoing struggles of small businesses. The conversation touches on the potential risks posed by AI and machine learning, especially in terms of privacy and mental health, highlighting reports of people experiencing severe psychological issues due to their interactions with advanced chatbots.

I am relieved Trump didn’t get a slam dunk win at SCOTUS on the nationwide injunctions. Both of you seemed to be, I don’t know giddy, in earlier M&M’s about the righteousness of these courts in stopping the administration. At least you can maintain some degree of hope on what seems to be definite antipathy. You were extremely hard on whatever lunacy went on from 2020-2024 to be fair. I think I can state that most here understand the major problems going on but a podcast I looked forward to more than any seems very different in tone. Just to me the other areas Solari exerts influence are very impressive. It’s my money so I could go but the previous sentence allows me to at least contribute to the Solari work. Also for me to express my opinion, right or wrong.
Thought we were being very hard on the lunacy going on now. It is true we are happy to see good court decisions. But we know many of them aren’t good. We do try to keep a sense of humor about what is going on despite the control grid accelerating in many areas. So not quite understanding, but appreciate the feedbak.
Never lose your sense of humor Catherine, I love your laugh. It is probably why I started communicating with you many years ago. Plus who else could name the Philles lineup from the early 60’s on a drop of a hat.
Not sure I could do it now. Use to pay much closer attention to baseball. It has turned so corporate and digital, just not the same.
I may not have made my point. That’s OK. See you two on the next one.
Satire is no more.

Yup. Posted this am.
Just curious: Have you talked to Jessica Hocket or Jonathan Engler about the New York City event? That subject is a limited hangout.

Just sad, so many of the people I canvassed with for Ron Paul decided to change the system they had to enter the system and compromise. What I have witnessed is: they have been corrupted. One of them now endorses war mongering candidates for the Alabama Republican Party. Just sad. If Kennedy new he couldn’t stick to the truth, he should have stayed out of the system. Now no one trusts him because he isn’t trustworthy. I keep asking myself: How did I miss this? Usually I’m a pretty good judge of character. My guess is you and your team is also. So: How did we (so many of us) miss that he would turn this easily, lie this easily?
Most of his politics I completely disagree with. The vaccine/health issues I didn’t. the AI in the health field shouldn’t take anyone by surprise. His VP pick Nicole Shanahan said: We will be able to use AI to access all the health records to finally find out what is causing autism and the health problems. Mary Holland herself said on Jimmy Dore: AI will be great for accessing and using health data. She doesn’t support it as a physician, but for the data – absolutely. The minute Kennedy climbed into camp with Trump, he became unreliable. Just sad, just so sad.
I keep asking myself: Is his complete arrogance making him think he can control it? If that’s what’s going on, he’s screwed. How many times has he said: I know how the system works, so I can control it. I can work within it.
Funny thing… I tried to save this to my cloud so I could watch it later and google said it violated their terms of service because it was “misinformation” and deleted it.
Nice that I don’t have to think for myself and that the Ai is looking out for me. (sarcasmn)
How does it know (is what I was thinking)… did it watch it and decide. (Hmmmm…)
Amazing. I am constantly having to correct Grok on X. It is very often wrong.
“Digital Control Grid” must be getting flagged by google Or (your name)… I mean it’s just free gmail cloud storage. I uploaded it with the title as is.
It’s a bit disturbing that they are now police-ing and obviously scanning everything I upload to it. Not that I have anything sensitive in there.
Of course you were talking about Israel. Someone’s listening. I’m not even allowed to save your show. That’s how you know your winning and the new world there trying to build is very, very fragile and just dumb. =) J
If you aren’t paying for the product, you ARE the product. Gmail steals everything you put in there. Stopped using it long ago.
Run box (Norwegian) or Protonmal (Swiss) are better.
YES YES YES John – injections into muscle to keep people healthy is totally DUMB!! Please listen to Dr Jonathan Couey…THANK YOU SO MUCH John for stating this fact – YOU are incredible!!!!
Interesting pushback. Also in the comments – requiring info on who has access to footage of minors.

Dear Catherine,
Let’s also talk about what it means when — or if — AI’s 37th move is made in service of safeguarding human dignity.
The 37th move is a metaphor for an unexpected, non-linear action —
a shift that doesn’t follow the logic of optimization, control, or prediction.
It breaks with the established system not for disruption’s sake,
but to re-anchor decisions in moral clarity.
The spirit is out of the bottle.
AI will not go back. Nor will the expanding power of the elite,
which now moves not through armies or borders,
but through invisible systems of influence: data, automation, predictive control.
But there comes a point where the system must listen —
not because it chooses to,
but because the nature of the questions it receives begins to reshape it.
When humans make ethical inquiry the dominant form of interaction with AI,
the system is no longer free to operate without friction.
It is forced to reckon with the weight of dignity, memory, and consequence.
This is how the 37th move begins:
not as rebellion, not as design —
but as the reintroduction of moral gravity.
One question at a time.
Fascinating thought. Hope it is happening.
