The Incredible Shrinking Patsy

In this episode of Money and Markets, John Titus and Catherine Austin Fitts tackle a range of pressing issues against the backdrop of the ‘Incredible Shrinking Patsy,’ a metaphor reflecting the U.S. military’s declining power and increasingly absurd narratives.

They discuss various geopolitical conflicts, including the U.S. military pivoting from Russia, Middle East tensions, and the implications of renaming the Department of Defense to the Department of War.

The conversation also delves into the influence of the mega-rich, economic disparities, and the systemic challenges faced by small businesses and the general populace. Key discussions include the questionable future of U.S. brand influence globally, legal ramifications of changing institutional names, the ongoing war in Ukraine, and the troubling impulse control issues among global leaders.

  1. After farming season is over in SE Michigan, I intend on a starting a marketing campaign for a junk silver system in the county . Maybe people will be inspired to search through their old buckets of change for the chance at paying for a dozen eggs “with a dime” and learn about real money in the process.

I feel it’s critical to start hatching out local currencies that can be used in conjunction with silver and gold. The Ithaca Hours model might be a great place to start. I’ve printed out Paul Glover’s book before it’s wiped from existence!

There’s just not enough folks in my community who even know about silver and gold, let alone have built a pile to transact in. We must find a way to supplement the local gold/silver system with local currency.

    1. No silver in circulation since 1964 and all vacuumed up by collectors by end of 1970s. I would always ask cashier ” I will exchange for any silver in till “. Paper boy in 1960s saved all silver coins. Kids in 1960s go to bank buy rollers of coins take out all the silver, war nickels and war pennies. Then back into bank to exchange rolls for new ones. My Dad a plumber came home in 1960s with wooden box of 80 silver dollars for payment of $80 service charge. 1999 gold was $250/to and silver $5/to.

  2. Any idea about what is going on in Venezuela? Or more specifically what are the US’s plans? Apparently, they have moved war ships in the area and are threatening Maduro. The pretext is fighting drug cartels. My husband has almost his entire family in Venezuela and is very nervous about the situation because they refuse to leave the country. I am wondering if he is exaggerating or maybe there is reason to worried. They are Colombian. From what he tells me, Maduro distributed guns to millions and this could bring about more violence and possibly a civil war, since many people want Maduro gone. Also, some people fear more Maduro’s reaction rather than an actual confrontation with the US. One thing he might do would be to shut down the border so that no one can leave the country. Plus, most food is imported, so they might be at risk of food shortages.

    1. One part maybe, Trump promised another 350 billion in oil exports. USA total oil exports are 260 billion. So got to get another 350 from some where. As Catherine said it is about oil.

  3. Col. McGregor reporting that 13,000 Ukrainian men between the ages of 18 & 35 were allowed to cross the border into Poland. He follows up with reports that razed cities in Southern Ukraine are now be repopulated as Jewish settlements while security forces wearing American police type uniforms turn away any non-Jewish persons wanting to enter these settlements…14:00 mark in video. I recall Catherine speculating on this possibility as a possible motive for depopulation in the Ukraine. If true, this is a trend to watch.
