The movie G20 places U.S. President Danielle Sutton (played by Viola Davis) at a fictional G20 meeting in South Africa. (Note: This year’s G20 meeting will take place in South Africa in November.) President Sutton has a goal for the meeting—to win support for her plan to flood the world with stablecoins, including providing credit to small farmers globally. A group of terrorists, engineering a pump of an alternative crypto, is trying to stop her.

The actual plan to radically expand the global stablecoin market has been covered repeatedly on the Solari Report by both John Titus and I on Money & Markets and by Mark Goodwin in his excellent series, “Digital Money, Digital Control.” The importance of this plan cannot be understated as the legislation to make it go, the GENIUS Act, works its way through Congress.

If successful, the plan for stablecoins will dramatically expand the global market share for the U.S. dollar and U.S. Treasury bills. If it floods with world with related private credit through mobile phones—the digital equivalent of the pallets of cash once sent to Iraq—it could also make a major contribution to consolidation of agriculture and farmland.

Most important, it creates a platform through which the owners of the New York Fed can essentially launch a private equivalent of a CBDC.

G20 is not worth watching as entertainment. It is, however, an interesting comment on the marketing plan that supports the expansion of the stablecoin market. When you realize how long it takes to write, produce, film, and distribute a big-budget movie of this kind, it says something about the planning that has gone into the Trump Administration’s high-speed building of the global digital control grid.
