The Minds of Men

With Josh Stylman having just hit a home run with his oral presentation on “How Consciousness Became Programmable” and his written report, “Cognitive Liberty: The Battle for Human Consciousness in the Age of Technocracy,” it is an opportune time to once again recommend Truthstream Media’s award-winning documentary, The Minds of Men, which was Solari’s pick for Documentary of the Year in 2018.

As prodigious researchers and dot-connectors, Truthstream’s Aaron and Melissa Dykes have been on the mind control “beat” for a long time, studying and making videos about the war on cognitive sovereignty from many different angles. In a May 2025 post about the “electric idiocracy zombie apocalypse boogaloo,” they note,

“Human thought is being disincentivized while people are pushed deeper and deeper into personal relationships with technology they’re being trained not to question…. Meanwhile, ‘offloading cognitive tasks’ is just a fancy way of saying ‘letting something else think for you.’”

How did we get to the point where people are willingly outsourcing their thinking? The Minds of Men, with a deep-dive runtime of three hours and 43 minutes, provides some answers, focusing on “the experimentation, art, and practice of social engineering and mind control” during the Cold War period. Among other segments, the film presents chilling history associated with figures like José Delgado (the infamous scientist who pioneered neuromodulation with radio-controlled bulls) and cybernetics guru Norbert Wiener, as well as compelling interview footage with psychiatry’s insider critic, Dr. Peter Breggin.

The Minds of Men won awards at numerous independent film festivals, but, as Truthstream’s website informs us, Amazon chose to censor it. Could there be any stronger recommendation to watch (or re-watch) it?
