Thank you to Solari subscriber Brad P. for this week’s wonderful music tip. The Puppini Sisters are a fantastic, jazzy a cappella trio founded in 2004 after Marcella Puppini, Kate Mullins, and Stephanie O’Brien met as students at the Trinity College of Music in London. (In 2012, O’Brien left the group and was replaced by Emma Smith and later Rosanna Schura.)
They started with songs from the Andrews Sisters and kept the style inspired by the music and fashion of the 1940s.
From their extensive repertoire we chose this fabulous cover of the 1978 Schlager [pop tune] “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor. Unfortunately, there is no live recording of them singing the full song, but to prove that these three gals can sing it without studio effects, you can watch their impromptu a cappella harmonies in this clip.
Please note: The link provided above may not work in Europe. If that is the case for you, please listen to the song here.
