Music of the Week: May 10, 2021: Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra in E Major (Felix Mendelssohn)

In the mood for some light and joyful music? Listen to this Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra that Felix Mendelssohn (1809 – 1847) wrote when he was 14 years old! He considered this work too immature, so the piece was not published until after his death. A look at the sheet music gives an idea of the complexity of the work.
Mendelssohn was a German composer, pianist, organist and conductor of the early Romantic period. He was recognised early as a musical prodigy and is now among the most popular composers of the Romantic era.
