Todd Hoffman

Todd Hoffman is popular for his role as a gold prospector in the TV series Gold Rush. Who would have expected an adventurous and gruff-looking guy like Todd to come out as a great singer and even songwriter?

Gold Rush is a reality TV show that resulted from Todd, his father Jack Hoffman, and a bunch of jobless friends trying their luck looking for gold in Alaska. Todd’s father had been a gold hunter in his younger years but wasn’t particularly successful. When Todd stepped into his father’s boots, he met with greater fortune.

What is less known is that Todd once studied theology in Northern California and later owned a small airport that he ran himself. Cool idea! Unfortunately, with the financial crisis of 2008, he couldn’t maintain the airfield as a business any longer. That was when Todd remembered his father’s search for gold when he was a boy.

Under contract with the Discovery Channel, the series became a smashing sensation. Now, Todd is remaking himself as a singer, recording his own music as well as beautiful covers of popular hits that garner millions of views—the most popular being a cover of “Sound of Silence” that will give you goosebumps.
