Now that a variety of factions have harvested the planet for trillions of dollars in the latest round of financial pump and dumps, the questions remains how to launder the money into real assets quickly.
The first big asset that is the target of such efforts is inevitably land and real estate. How to get huge positions in land and real estate that can be developed quickly?
Disaster capitalism is so profitable. You buy the land cheap and then someone else pays for your improvements while you get to keep the equity capital gains. Given how much money is sitting in offshore havens, however, there are not enough hurricanes, tsunamis and earthquakes to tee up sufficient opportunities fast enough.
So how do we come up with a way that buys up places, launders big money fast and generates a new round of construction contracts while maintaining the socially attractive brand we need to add in government redevelopment deals and stick the cost to the local citizenry?
In situations like this, the first thing that happens is a round of creative conversations by “admired” academics and think tanks looking to attract lots of people who are eager to transform our situation.
Think I am being harsh? Check out a recent description of Paul Rommer “new idea:”
“He [Paul Romer] proposed that developing countries could invite experienced governments such as Finland… to have administrative (and perhaps democratic control from afar) to create new instant cities for 10 million people. As Stewart Brand wrote about Romer’s talk “They would enrich the country where they are built as special economic zones while also rewarding the distant government that makes the investment of building the new city state and installing a set of fair and productive rules. Over time, as with Hong Kong, the new city is turned over to the host country.”
As Bill King says, “you just could not make this stuff up.”
Catherine—Have you ever considered the writings from the Baha`i Faith?
In the end game its the dispensation of GOD .
All these things you have most properly observed is just a manifestation of the transition of a unified planet.
Albeit that most of the power groups and people you mention are utterly a moral and defunct of the spirit with their own power.
The day soon will come when they will beg God that they were never born!
In the very near future their names will be all forgotten and their beings will be smaller in importance than a photon.
God and His Manifestation beareth me witness! That people like you coming forth in the spirit of truth and honor and fellowship will be what brings this planet together.
May the abha blessing be upon you!
Yes, Margret. We do have the power to choose. Let’s remember that “we are many, and they are few.” So every choice we make can have a tremendous impact.
Also I’d like to share a couple of information sources:
– The McAlvany Report (free) — interviews with interesting heavy-weights in the realm of economy, finance, politics… The last one talks about the visit of Geithner to China and of gold:

– About Europe, I recommend this site. Although I like and read regularly people like Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, he does have a bias against Europe, which needs to be balanced. The information letter they publish is of excellent quality and is very informative (I am a French citizen living in the US so I fancy myself having a dual perspective):

Wow, Christine G, I agree….the main solution is spiritual. We must request from Higher Power that our own personal choices not be removed from us by these large forces. We must continue to pursue Free Will choices and deny others the right to take our power. We can do this; and it will change the entire plan.
How’s about this scenario: the money siphoned out of our pockets will be laundered — uh, “invested” — in the new technologies that have been kept dormant up to now. Expect to see stunning developments in areas like energy, health, etc., with the “lucky investors” getting a handsome return on their loot.
Looming and lingering “GM” bankruptcy was only to sort out its ASSETS
“Disaster capitalism” is only workable if those who looted everything to begin with can pass the inflation effect of their penny investments to the common folks. It seems those buying should be more paranoid with their investments than those who walked away? Land and real estate is a foolish investment, because the little folks won’t be buying prime properties. instead they will get the gettos. For example, did any smart people figure out that the looming “GM” bankruptcy was only to sort out its ASSETS to sell or liquidate to the elite types for pennies on the dollar. All disguised under the terms; RAISING CAPITAL! Today they declared bankruptcy leaving probable damaged land, assets, environmental considerations, old unproductive buildings, and unworthy ASSETS for the Americans to own its “60%” stake? Looting the company first, then tax payers buy the left-overs, and then we ask if they will emerge as a profitable company. Not to mention the the complete destruction of the unions, and suppliers. President Obama did us common folk, including the millionaries no favors. We all loose unitl you get to the upper 5%.
