  1. Many thanks to the individual or team suggesting “Miracle” I’m not particularly a sports fan, but I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen this movie–it never fails to inspire and is uplifting on so many levels.

Sad fact: This very afternoon marks 21 years since coach Herb Brooks died in the single car crash in Minnesota. The Solari recommendation makes me want to watch the film again tonight, but…

Herb Brooks, this one’s for you!

  2. Think it was Kurt that related a couple of X-rated Brooks talks that did not make it in the Disney version. The one before the Gold medal game was short and sweet but was classic Brooks. I’ve seen a lot sports movies. Simulation of actual events is very difficult and most can’t really pull it off. That is why most popular one about sports are documentary that intersperse real footage with interviews. I saw “Miracle” and I don’t think there is a better one out there of this genre where the outcome is known. Could have been the fact it occurred in 1980 before the explosion of sports media outlets covering every minute detail. Could have been the subject matter was hockey which was fairly regional at the time. It should move you emotionally if you have a pulse. 😎🏒
