Last year, while living in political asylum in the Ecuador embassy in London (he still is), Wikileaks leader Julian Assange engaged Jacob Appelbaum, Andy Muller-Maguhn and Jeremie Zimmermann in a conversation about the effort to convert the Internet into a surveillance system and the importance of developing tools — such as wide spread use of encryption – to ensure that this does not happen.
Assange’s grasp of the relationship between the Internet, our legal and financial systems and the mechanisms of control is clear and coherent. His ideas on what we can each do are well worth your time to buy and read this book.
