Book Review: Follow the Money: A Citizen’s Guide to Local Government
[CAF Note: I published this review when we did Unpacking Your Financial Ecosystem on the Solari Report. I am republishing as more subscribers grapple with the power and opportunity of getting to know their state and local officials.]
“Follow the money.” ~ Deep Throat
By Catherine Austin Fitts
The American Institute for Economic Research publishes Follow the Money: A Citizen’s Guide to Local Government by Lynndee Kemmet. It is an excellent introduction on how to understand your local municipal budget process as well as how to get involved. Kemmet has a wealth of experience reporting and working with local government and is an excellent writer.
For those of you who want to take advantage of local opportunities as our economy changes but find local government and budgets baffling, this book is for you.

The link provided above did not work, nor the old one to purchase. I did find a pdf link on the https://www.aier.org/archives/ I can not share an exact link for some reason but I was able to download the pdf if anyone is unable to access the book. Thanks!

Found it – if you search for “Follow the Money”, this comes up. Next to attachment is “EB201010.pdf” which is the entire book on pdf for free download. This was referenced during the 2021 Annual wrap (part 1, section 3 Governance/Government, about 9:50 into that audio MP3 section) up as something to take action on.
