Delightful. One of the nicest parts of the past three years was seeing the various folks i followed slowly meeting up and joining forces. You two are a perfect example.
Quick note on feds buying states, or in our case, provinces … PEI just got $1 billion for health care if we implement digital ID for health.
Lol our province is a tiny island of 170k people. We got the exact same amount as every other province, even though we have a fraction of the population. Our premier was literally giddy with delight.
That was a month or two ago. Since then, a bunch of family doctors left the island, and more folks are sick, but nothing else has changed. Yet. We shall see.
Big money game that has even reached here. Fun times.

Question. Here on the island, the very “unnatural” Hurricane Fiona took out power to the island for weeks. During that time, we noticed our previously tech addicted teens got “unhooked”, and it was far less effort then expected.
My question is purely a thought exercise…. If we really believe we are facing an existential threat, would interruptions in the power supply, or communications infrastructure, be useful in breaking the “trance”, thus freeing citizens from mind control tech, and if useful, at what point and how does it get applied?
Of course, no answer is possible. The question was purely theoretical. ?
We are at war, but we our methods of resistance are “limited”.
Such complicated rules of engagement. Seems unfair.

Lol … I have realized that longer podcasts that discuss multiple topics lend themselves to multiple comments. ?
On the AI thing, as someone who was part of the dotcom fun over twenty years ago, I remember envisioning what the internet could do potentially, once the hardware was in place.
What it has evolved into is both wonderful and frightening, but I’m still hopeful.
Like the car or the gun, the tech isn’t bad. It’s all about how we use it.
Gordon White of Rune Soup shared a delightful vision of a solar cyberpunk future that had a decidedly Charles Forte feel with the “dominant of wider inclusion” – solar powered cyber ox plows your tiny organic garden, while you teach permaculture to kids online, before teleporting across the globe to see your mom for her birthday.
Imagine greatness.
