April 6, 2020 marks a 500 years anniversary of passing of one of the most beloved artists. A huge Raphael exhibition at the Scuderia del Quirinale in Rome could only open in March for few days before the whole of Italy went on quarantine. Now these masterpieces are hanging on the walls in completely empty halls.

Unfortunately museums in Italy had to close on March 17th but hopefully will reopen in May. Here is a link with some short videos on the Raphael exhibition:

Great rant from Vittorio Sgarbi, art critic and member of parliament, demanding the opening of major exhibitions and museums, not just because of the financial aspect but because the culture is and integral part of being Italian (automatic translation available).
