Hero of the Week: Feb. 14, 2022: Corporal Daniel Bulford
“The Constitution is the Supreme Law of Canada.”
Corporal Daniel Bulford
Our hero of the week is Corporal Daniel Bulford, former member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the federal police service of Canada.
Corporal Bulford left the prestigious position of personal protection detail for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in November of 2021, when he and many other members of the RCMP stood up against the vaccine mandates put in place for federal public servants.
He and other “Mounties” (as RCMP officers are often called) wrote a detailed Open Letter to RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki on October 21, saying they as officers cannot “willingly participate in enforcing mandates they do not believe in”, and asking for an investigation to be opened to “ensure no criminal acts were committed in the dissemination of information from federal and provincial health authorities or public figures in positions of trust.” The letter was signed by over 33,000 officers of law enforcement and public service and included a full list of documents written by scientific and medical professionals as attachments.
In the impressive “resignation” speech that Corporal Daniel Bulford gave before the Canadian Covid Care Alliance on November 23, 2021, he stated that he “cannot be compliant or complicit” with Federal policies and regulations that are unlawful. Also present was Dr. Julie Ponesse, former professor of ethics and philosophy at the University of Western Ontario, who lost her academic position after refusing to comply with the vaccination mandate.
Mr. Bulford co-founded the Mounties for Freedom platform and is now helping Canadian truckers as head of security for the Freedom Convoy.
