Mayor Craig Shubert is our hero this week for exposing the inappropriate instructional materials – sexually explicit – being put in the hands of high school students in Hudson, Ohio. Mayor Craig Shubert put the school board on notice to either resign or be charged. Far from being a done deal, at least somebody is standing up for the children in our school system!

Mr. Shubert must be a rear, dedicated, old school leader with real values and resolve.
He heard of the problem, he recognized it as harmful to his students, and then he decisively eliminated the problem. Bravo Mr. Shubert–I’m so glad you were chosen to be Hero of the Week at Solari.com

It cheers me that “they” haven’t gotten to everyone……

I just gotta say, I tutor at my local middle school (11-14 yr olds), this is my 6th year. Many are often trying to listen to music with headphones, & I ask them what they’re listening to. The referred to high school curriculum is so very tame compared to the graphic rap pornography, & video porn that they are exposed to through the phone & internet. Jus a Lil reality check around what’s real in our youth’s world. If a young person has ever had access to a an unrestricted phone or internet connected device, well, let’s jus say they’ve seen & heard stuff way beyond what most of us consider appropriate ever, much less available to young people ! I work in the after school program here also, where they have more freedom, & I jus asked, this week, what they were singing & dancing to, trust me, I wish I hadn’t asked.
