In the SF Bay Area: Ani’s Mediterranean Cuisine

By Catherine Austin Fitts
I was walking through a mall in Corte Madre on Friday afternoon looking for store to arrange for a new phone (at last, I ditched the iPhone!).
I had seen signs for a farmers market. I turned the corner and suddenly smelled the most heavenly food and heard wonderful music…a hint of something authentic and delicious.
Around the corner, I found Chef Ani Toroyanand and in short order I had a bag full of spinach pies, falafels, hummus and these unbelievable nut cakes (pistachios, figs, dates, laced with white chocolate – Ani does not use sugar — she says she never uses anything that could impair vitality).
It was a reminder that at any moment, there may be magic just around the corner….
