Movie of the Week: Week of January 8, 2024: Air

Sometimes building a successful product or business looks much easier than it is. This week, watch a fascinating film that portrays a tale of business determination, daring, and intuition.
Take a nostalgic trip back to the 1980s as you enjoy the carefully selected soundtrack that sets the perfect mood. This movie is based on real-life events and explores the origins of the iconic Air Jordan basketball shoe line. Witness the risks taken by an unconventional sports team at Nike, as well as the unwavering faith of a mother in her son’s extraordinary talent and the remarkable journey of basketball legend Michael Jordan, who would ultimately become one of the greatest athletes of all time.
Jordan, in negotiation with Nike, literally changed the business model of athlete participation in terms of the wealth athletes create, putting billions of dollars into the pockets of players and their families.
The story is fascinating. Excellent acting by Matt Damon and the rest of the cast also make it good entertainment.

Just watched it. Wow it was so good! I never would have, but Catherine’s flick picks have always proved worthy. Glad I just did it:) Super inspirational. The 80’s immersion was a bonus.
