a buddy of mine stayed at a motel outside of Portland recently and he clearly saw law enforcement /national Guard? federal marshals?/ at the same hotel. crew cuts, the swagger, the black rental cars, etc. then he joked? that the protesters are staying at the same hotels as law enforcement and they are all having buffet breakfasts together before heading out to work. maybe they even see each other in different cities. “hey there cliff, they got you assigned here too?” true or not, its definitely funny? to imagine this.
he also mentioned it was nearly impossible to find a uhaul or rental car to leave California, and the rental companies which did have a car were charging 1500 for a one way trip bay Area to portland, or 500 for round trip, because they are short of vehicles in California.
may we live in interesting times.

It is amazing how organized these people are. We need to get organized ourselves.
