Giving Life

Simon Khorolskiy & Children’s Choir

Some of the most profound Christian songs come from Simon Khorolskiy. He has a way of putting the words from the Gospel to music that can actually reach the soul.

Simon is of Russian descent living in the Pacific Northwest. Some of his songs have English lyrics, but most of them are in Russian (switch on the English subtitles). His music is completely independently funded by the donations of viewers.

His most recent release is a poignant plea for human life, both born and unborn; a prayer to God to allow each soul to live their destiny to the full.

Lyrics in English

Chorus:
Those who, by Your will,
Come to live in this world—
I ask that they may become
Human in the fullest sense;
So they build each other’s destinies,
Not break them;
So they give life,
And do not take it away.

  1. Here’s a personal favorite of my own for thia column: “Wonder English” by Eisley, a band from Tyler, Tx. The entire album (“Currents”) is amazing, with impressive beautiful 3-part harmonies throughout. Just when one thinks they know the rest of a song, the song takes breathtaking turns. But the lyrics for this one are:

    “Wonder English”

    If I might be as so bold to say you saved my life
    I’m wondering, wonder English, oh I’ve found,
    has no words to correctly describe
    the way love sounds

    So I will sing, hey la la
    Hey, oh oh

    Child, I will see you through a murderous comet,
    a sly little comment
    Oh Buttercup I will see you through a thousand bold soldiers with guns on their shoulders
    You’ll never grow older

    Hey, la la
    Hey, oh oh

    Life, mankind, space, travel time
    Oh demons in the dark
    Oh I will never let them tear us apart
    No I will never

    Hey, la la
    Hey, oh oh
    Hey, la la
    Hey, oh oh
