Music of the Week: September 1, 2023: A Change Is Gonna Come – George Winston
Last week in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City convened for its yearly Symposium. It was the 46th year of the annual forum, and its topic was “Structural Shifts in the Global Economy.”
What shifts were previewed? Does the machinery hunger for more? When the G7 central bankers met in Jackson Hole in 2019, they voted on the Going Direct Reset (the World Economic Forum calls it the Great Reset). We all know what happened next: “Structural shifts in the global economy” engineered with lockdowns and other disaster capitalism justified by health mandates.
Now, with the central bankers under pressure from the success of the BRICS nations at their Summit in South Africa earlier in the week, we are suddenly hearing new rumors of lockdowns in the fall and experiencing a serious push for censorship and media manipulation throughout Europe and North America. What did the central bankers decide? What “change is gonna come”?
We are using this piece by American pianist George Winston to reflect on the changes ahead, and to muster the courage and clarity to continue in intelligent resistance, non-compliance to tyranny, and proactive creation of a livable planetary future. The change is ours to make.
Grammy Award winner George Winston, known as the “new age pianist,” was one of the best-known solo performers of melodic and folk piano music, which he presented at nearly 100 concerts each year. He died on June 4, 2023 at age 74.

Thank you for sharing this post. Sad to see George Winston’s passing who made such an impression on me in the early 80s. His recordings bring me to tears. What a talent he was, able to reach hearts and tell a story when he touched the keys of his piano.
