Music of the Week: September 13, 2024: Biko’s Manna – Don’t Worry, Be Happy
Even though they dropped out in the Quarterfinals of Season 19 of America’s Got Talent, this South African band of three young siblings—Biko, Manna, and Mfundo—will hopefully continue on stage for a while inspiring more young people through their music. They do have talent and that typical South African groove.
That swing obviously runs in their veins. They hail from an esteemed South African music lineage representing the sixth generation within the Nokwe Creative Development Foundation that was founded after the Soweto uprisings in 1976 by a group of performing artists, led by the renowned Nokwe family. The idea was to help engender the self-esteem of young people and motivate them through public performances.
Keep it going, guys!
