[Note from CAF: Yes, it is simply an update of existing Executive Orders. However, why now? Last week we enjoyed lots of silence on the federal corporate tax and disclosure filings while distracted by resigning Goldman Sachs executives. This coming on top of everything else is making me a bit nervous.]
Usually, these types of god like edicts are done after elections to avoid embarrassing questions during election years. However, the NDAA was rolled out New Years Eve and the NDRP was rolled out the day before St. Patty’s day. It appears they’re hoping all the hangovers would help hide the ramifications. However, if you assess the absolute value of both of these EO’s, they kill off the remnants of the Constitution and mortally wound the Magna Carta. In other words, welcome the return of the “Divine Right of Kings”. So, as you alluded to, why now? What’s on tap before the election? Another worrisome component are the implied mega scarcities that the NDRP sites as it’s justification. A dollar devaluation would fit the bill.. Your thoughts?
