“I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious. Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have. … The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases. The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.”
~ Thomas Jefferson
By Corey Lynn and James White
The Founding Fathers of this nation did us all an incredible favor by outlining our natural, unalienable rights in perhaps one of the greatest documents ever put to pen, the U.S. Constitution. Yes, that long-forgotten document that used to be covered in our elementary school classes (for those of you who are old enough to remember) is still around and is actually making a comeback.
Our guest for this edition of the Solution Series, KrisAnne Hall, is an absolute dynamo with a legal mind that is not only amazing but filled with a voluminous knowledge about the U.S. Constitution and the specific intent of the document’s creators. Hall’s grasp of this nation’s founding documents is second to none, a fact that is easily discernible as you listen to her speak. So, grab a pen and paper and be ready to learn about your nation’s founding, the power of the states, and the power of the people.

Coincidentally, we just had a public viewing of Krisanne Hall’s movie, Non-Compliant 2: The Sheriff in our small Utah town last night. The director of the movie Steve Rey Sorensen and his wife Alexis happen to live here in Manti and he spoke about making the movie. We invited our sheriff and he spoke for 15 minutes before the movie. We are lucky that our Sheriff understands the things taught by Krisanne. Our Sheriff is the one standing on the DVD cover.

State legislators should be able to understand their power to nullify federal overreach – ignore PREP, Obamacare, the federal Dept of Education . . . Their problem is money going first to the federal government and then coming back through federal programs. My legislators wouldn’t pass anything protecting nursing home patient’s rights because CMS (Medicare) wouldn’t like it. Not one stopped to think what they were saying – they’ve been conditioned.
States have to get control of the money. The Federal government has exceeded its authority and violated the Constitution and laws in many ways. States could direct their citizens to escrow their federal taxes with the state while states unwind the financial relationship with the federal government. (The states can create their own programs for the poor, elderly, education . . .)
In 1875 Article XI Corporations, was added to Missouri’s constitution. The last paragraph, Section 13 states: “No state bank shall be created, nor shall the state own or be liable for any stock in any corporation, joint stock company, or association for banking purposes.” Tennessee has this language in their constitution and I’d bet most if not all states besides North Dakota have it as well. We can repeal it but it creates a hurdle that slows down creating sovereign state banks.
I’m wondering if there’s a way around it where the state could contract with community banks to provide the services of a sovereign bank and through contract, give them the protection of the state’s sovereignty. That would use an existing apparatus and could lead to eventual acceptance by community banks of the merits of a sovereign bank.
