Metanoia Series: Diagnosing the U.S. Healthcare System with Glenn Ellis

"Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity." ~ Hippocrates
By Junious Ricardo Stanton
The American healthcare system has become dysfunctional. No longer abiding by the guiding principles of the Hippocratic Oath, the system prioritizes profits over people, and seems to be controlled by people who no longer care about our wellbeing or health.
Our guest for this edition of Metanoia is Glenn Ellis, a health and wellness educator, author, columnist, and lecturer focusing on health equity and ethics with a global perspective. He is a Certified Health Care Ethicist (CHCE) from the Institute of Clinical Bioethics at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA and has a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Liverpool. His goal is to empower us with information about the healthcare system, medicine, and our own health and wellbeing. It is my great honor to present Glenn Ellis to the Solari Report subscribers.

Finance seems to always muck things up – opens door for chicanery. That said, communism seems to have its own set of challenges. HIV is a lifestyle disease, autoimmune issues caused by long term drug use and awful food, smoking etc.

yes, an Ethiopian American friend of mine is selling her house so that her daughter can have a year off without working to study for her medical school entrance exams. Luckily, before her husband died they were able to invest into a house which has increased in value. They plan to rent rooms in other people’s homes —giving up the house for her daughter’s advancement. wow!!! What sacrifice and she thinks nothing of it…no resentment…faith in God.

Being raised white in Mississippi, then going back for my first career….long long ago, I’ve appreciated Junious Stanton since Catherine’s first interview with him. He’s always spot on and bringing us along for the Health Care discussion is a treasure. Dad was a hospital administrator. He was “spirit called” to serve and got started just before insurance and the government programs started. Stanton and Ellis enlighted me and affirmed what my dad had to deal with from my perspective. This type of discussion lends itself to “learning how to talk about the issue”. I am grateful!
